KISCO has dedicated itself to developing domestic steel industry for over nearly the past six decades. We are one of the nation’s top 3 electric arc furnace (EAF) steel makers. Since the establishment in 1957, we have led domestic and global steel industries through continued R&Ds and management innovation. Now, as a core unit of KSCO Group which runs diverse affiliates in steel industry, we are growing into the best steel manufacturing company in the Republic of Korea.
For over nearly the past six decades, we have led domestic steel industry with remarkable achievements. In 1967, we opened a steel plate manufacturing plant and started to manufacture steel plates for the first time in the Republic of Korea. In 1992, we developed the world’s first 4-slit rolling method. In fact, we have concentrated on field-oriented R&Ds to create high values such as development of new steels and quality/process improvement.
As a result, we were able to develop reinforcing bars for nuclear power plants for the first time in 1983 and ultra-low-temperature reinforcing bars used for the construction of LNG plants in 1998. In 2016, earthquake-proof reinforcing bars were developed. After all, we have led steel industry in terms of technology and quality and even set new industry standards through size marking on the surface of reinforcing bars and packaging in bundle (by ton).
