Foam filled buoy는 외피층이 filament로 보강되어 내마모성이 우수하고 가혹한 해상 환경에서도 적합하며, 충격 흡수를 하는 독립기포 조직으로 구성

Foam filled buoy는 기존 steel buoy보다 훨씬 경량이다. 외피층이 filament로 보강되어 내마모성이 우수하고 가혹한 해상 환경에서도 적합하며, 충격 흡수를 하는 독립기포 조직으로 구성된 foam core는 외피가 파손되더라도 부력을 유지한다. 유지 보수가 간편하고 충격에너지를 흡수할 수 있어 기존 사용되어지던 steel buoy를 빠르게 대체하고 있다.
