Alternative Maritime Power : AMP
As the global transportation cargo loads increase, port operators began to establish 'Green Port' development strategy to support environmentally friendly sustainable growth. Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) as known as Onshore Power Supply is a system to supply electricity for the ships berthed at port from land-based power source instead of operating internal power generation inside ships. Adopting AMP system reduces pollutants such as DPM, CO2, SOx, or NOx significantly by turning off the ships' generate engines and help to achieve goals of cleaner ports. AMP was started from the port of California, USA and its usage is being extended through other international seaports such as European Union and China.
