The compressed air discharged from the air compressor is hot and humid, if it is used in an air dryer line as it is, the dehumidification efficiency will fall due to moisture and high temperature and may cause failure of the air dryer. The aftercooler is an essential auxiliary cooling device which primarily cools the hot humidity compressed air to stabilize it in the normal atmospheric temperature (40℃ or below)
Features
- Requiring no refrigerant, it is easy to install, maintain, and manage.
- Air-cooled system, easy to use even in winter.
- Excellent efficiency in rapidly cooling hot compressed air down to 40℃ or below
- Produces small noise during operation and do not cause noise pollution
- Minimizes differential pressure in heat exchanger.
Operating Principle
Aftercooler is a device that cools the compressed air by exchanging heat between hot compressed air discharged from the air compressor and the air around the aftercooler.
The hot compressed air taken into the aftercoller is distributed into the condenser, which is a combination of thin aluminum fins and many copper pipes designed to increase the efficiency of heat exchange, and is cooled by ambient air blown by the fan while moving, The compressed air cooled in the aftercooler is cooled by ambient air which means that it will be cooled down to a temperature slightly higher than ambient temperature. The condensed water produced when the compressed air is cooled is discharged through the drain valve located on the outlet side.
