Our research institute, based on the Industrial Technology Innovation Promotion Act, was established with the purpose of contributing to the development of the shipbuilding and marine industry by providing comprehensive support for the technological development, testing, and certification of shipbuilding and marine equipment. We operate under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy as a specialized production technology research institute.

Recently, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has strengthened marine environmental regulations and recommended the operation of smart ports and ships. The shipbuilding and marine industry is making every effort to overcome the downturn by developing eco-friendly ship equipment and smart autonomous ships. In line with these efforts, our research institute is also striving to enhance customer service through the development and testing of eco-friendly and smart ships, improve operations through communication and harmony, and establish a foundation for co-growth with shipbuilding and marine equipment companies.
