1. Abseiler Service Introduction
Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), Australian Rope Access Association (ARAA), Society Of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) and etc. are official rope access organizations in the world. Abseiler (or Rope man) who achieved official license from these organizations' training and tests is authorized to work under condition of 'Work at height' or 'Inaccessible area' with rope & special equipment. Nowadays rope access skill is being focused as an alternative to scaffolding because it allows more safe condition to worker than risky scaffolding method.
Abseilers are working with secondary safety tools on his/her equipment to avoid fall accident and being managed by abselier supervisor (Level 3 grade) who has responsibility of safety control at site according to each international rope access organization's strict regulation. Especially shipyard/offshore field require higher level of safety control and work at height condition, abseiler is one of strongly needed jobs in shipbuilding/offshore industry. DSSI operate a large numbers of abseilers in Korea and thus role of DSSI is getting important in terms of safety.
