1)LNG Carrier
LNG Carriers are ships which transport liquefied natural gas.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has world-leading competitiveness with LNG technology such as LNG Fuel Systems (FGSS) and 'Natural Gas Liquefaction Devices (PRS)'. (Awarded 37 LNGC newbuilding contracts (market share 58.7%) in 2014) In addition, we were awarded a Russian project that involved developing 15 of the most advanced LNG Carriers capable of icebreaking in the Arctic Ocean. In December 2017, we began a new era in global energy transportation when we loaded Yamal LNG for the first time and traversed the Arctic Route through winter icebreaking operations.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering is once again reinforcing its position as a pioneer in marine technology by developing a membrane-type LNG independent cargo hold 'Solidus' that can dramatically lower the LNG vaporization rate.
2)LNG-FSRU
LNG-FSRU (Floating LNG Storage Regasification Unit) is a high value-added product that can supply natural gas economically without extra investment in a location where demand for natural gas is temporarily surging.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering successfully delivered the world's first LNG-FSRU, followed by the world's largest LNG-FSRU in 2017, and has demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the gradually expanding LNG-FSRU field.
3)LPG Carrier
Liquefied Petroleum Gas carriers (LPG Carrier) are vessels used for compressing / liquefying petroleum gas.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering successfully built four Very Large Gas (LPG) Carriers (VLGC) in tandem, leading the world market by delivering top-notch technology while meeting precise deadlines.
We are also expecting to build ME-LGIP carrier that can comply with current environmental regulations and ensure economic efficiency by reducing fuel costs.
